Two letters. A whole lot of life.

Chai (חי) means “life” in Hebrew. Its letters add up to 18, a number that has become synonymous with blessing, giving, and wishing someone a good life in Jewish tradition.

Eitan Chitayat’s Chai Mug puts one of Judaism’s most recognizable symbols right where many of us begin the day. Simple, unmistakably Jewish, and carrying considerably more than two little letters should reasonably be able to hold.

Drink to life. L’chaim.

For the mug, I definitely prefer that closer over “Wear it in good health.” Same family voice, but now the object gets its own little payoff.
